Wags and Whiskers (and feathers, fins and scales) is Westgate’s celebration of all pets! Join the fun Sunday, September 13 from noon to 4 PM at the Masonic Lodge on West Broad Street. It’s going to be an awesome day – here’s some of what you’ll find at Wags and Whiskers:
Over 25 vendors, including rescues, community services and pet-centered businesses. New this year will be face painting for the kids from 12-2 and a balloon artist from 2-4! Check the Wags and Whiskers event page on the Westgate Neighbors site for a full list of vendors.
If you’re bringing a pet, don’t forget to enter them in the popular Super Sidekick Pet Pageant! It’s not a beauty contest – any “body” – furry, fluffy, scaly or feathered- can be a winner! Sign-up begins at noon, the red carpet walk starts at 2:30. The winning pet receives a professional photo shoot and a trophy!
Check out all the adorable pet photos submitted by proud pet parents at the new Westgate Pet Showcase! Have a photo taken of you and your pet at the Photo Booth. These professional quality pictures will be available for a FREE download from the Wags and Whiskers event page. Reward your pet for posing for a photo with a treat from the Bar-K, sponsored by Thunderwing Brewing.
The Red Rover Raffle returns this year with fantastic prizes including TWO $100 gift cards to the Final Cut Steak House at the Hollywood Casino, a $100 gift card to Third Way Cafe, a movie night gift pack from Grandview Theater, gift baskets from local businesses and an adorable pup themed quilt. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and can be purchased at the raffle tent. You don’t have to be present to win, and all proceeds benefit local pet charities.
Leave a note at the Rainbow Bridge Memorial honoring a pet who is no longer by your side but forever in your heart! Donations are accepted and benefit local rescues.
